When you go to the coast, you have to sample the local seafood. Freshly sourced and expertly prepared, there is always something delicious to try. Many of our holiday chalets in parks along the coast of Suffolk are close to the top locations to get seafood, and here are the top ones we recommend:

The Fish Huts, Aldeburgh

These beach huts are right on the beach – the fish are nearly jumping out of the sea onto your plate. Every day the fishermen are at their huts with their morning catch, allowing you to pick the best one for your table.

The Lord Nelson, Southwold

The expert chefs at the Lord Nelson have a great advantage being right on the coast. The food is sourced locally from the fisherman and farmers. The menu changes seasonally too, so whatever time of year you go you will always get something different.

The White Lion, Aldeburgh

This friendly eatery will expertly cook up the fish that was caught metres away and you will get delicious portions that will fill you up and keep you wanting more.

Pinney’s of Orford

This long running establishment has been bringing the best of Suffolk seafood to your plate since 1959. The oyster bed and smokehouse opened first then the restaurant and shop not long after. As well as oysters they catch, cook and sell salmon, lobsters, skate, cod, sole, bass and even eels. Pinney’s also delivers food if you can’t make it to the shop.

The Woodbridge Shuck

Every year in the autumn a three-day festival is held on the banks of the river Deben that celebrates all things seafood. People come from all across Britain to try the local delicacies and share their love for seafood.

The Suffolk Food Hall, Ipswich

One of the largest markets in the country that sells fresh fish is at Suffolk Food Hall in Ipswich. There is a seven metre fish counter with a huge range of fish caught fresh on the day. Open seven days a week, it is a great place to buy the produce and also get some cooking tips.
