The Challenge Walks for this year's festival are sponsored by the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) project.
If you are fit enough and up for the challenge, then this 60 mile, 24 hour walk along the Suffolk Coast from Lowestoft to Felixstowe could be for you.
This is a tough challenge including long stretches of walking on the beach and in the dark. The rewards for your endeavours are likely to be sensational! The Suffolk Coast, which forms much of the internationally recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB),will reveal its unique landscape, wildlife and supportive communities.
The route will go inland at times to get round the Alde and Ore estuaries and will use the ferry at Bawdsey to get to Felixstowe Ferry and onto the finishing point in Felixstowe.
The Mega Challenge will be led by Nick Collinson, Suffolk County Council’s Head of Natural & Historic Environment and Ironman competitor as well as Simon Amstutz, Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty manager and experienced walker.
The meeting point is in Felixstowe and a coach will take walkers to Lowestoft where the route will start, finishing back at Felixstowe, 24 hours later.
