Seven restaurants located in East Anglia have featured in SquareMeal’s top 100 in the UK, as voted for by customers and professional reviewers.

Suffolk has three of the top 100 in the county, with three of the four restaurants can be found in Bury St Edmunds. The French restaurant which mainly focusses on fish, Maison Bleue, ranked the highest of the three coming in at number 56.

The Mediterranean-influenced Pea Porridge came in at number 60 and 1921, the fine dining restaurant came in at number 90. Meanwhile, The Great House at Lavenham finished at number 68, which completes the four in Suffolk.

Just over the border in Norfolk, there were three restaurants who finished in the top 100, with Norwich based duo Roger Hickman’s Restaurant and Benedict’s finishing at 55th and 63rd respectively. Morston Hall in Holt finishes the Norfolk three, ranking in 83rd.

Despite Suffolk beating neighbouring Norfolk for the top restaurants, none in Suffolk hold a Michelin star, where there are two eateries in Norfolk which hold one of the coveted prizes.
