A holiday rental website recently unveiled their ‘best of list’ featuring 15 of the top food festivals to visit across the UK, and two of these top attractions were based in our beloved Suffolk!

The list was revealed by holidaylettings.co.uk who are in partnership with TripAdvisor, with the aim of their ‘best of’ lists to show people the greatest things there are on offer in individual places, as well as providing inspiration for their next trip away, be it in the UK or further afield.

The first of the Suffolk festivals to be named is the Aldeburgh Food and Drink festival, which took place on the 24th and 25th September this year. It is a family friendly food festival, which encourages both locals and visitors to get involved with demonstrations, workshops, talks and best of all… taste testing all the wonderful foods available!

The second festival to make the list is yet to come this October, so you could be in for a meaty treat with The Great Framlingham Sausage Festival. This festival may still be fairly new, but this isn’t the first time it has been noted as a worthy event, after in 2014 the sausage festival made it into The Times’ ‘must do’ list.

This year promises to thrill more than ever before, taking place on Saturday 8th October. This is another family friendly event, with activities available such as ceramic painting, limo rides, flower arranging, a sausage tasting competition and even an escapology workshop!  There is a little something for everyone, and that’s not to mention the main event of the great sausage trail, with 18 different producers taking part this year, looking to take home the crown jewel of having the ‘best banger’.

Event organiser Jenny Stockman commented: “Our vision has always been to give the town an event that showcased it at its busy, buzzing best.

“The Sausage Festival takes people to all corners of the town discovering not only the fabulous local producers we’ve sprinkled around the trail, but also some hidden gems and wonderfully diverse independent businesses that are thriving here.

“To be able to do all this by just focusing on sausages is pretty exciting,” she added.

Will you be attending the best of Suffolk this October and venturing over to The Great Framlingham Sausage Festival? You can take a trip to the meaty madness whilst staying in our Suffolk holiday parks, so take a look to day and book a banger of a holiday!
