At Tingdene we are passionate about East Anglia and this show is the perfect celebration of all things Norfolk!

This year’s Royal Norfolk Show is set to be the must see event of the year. Marquees are going up and the Showground is buzzing. It’s very exciting! Here are the top ten things to do at this years show!

The Queens Colour Squadron

Normally seen at the Royal Albert Hall Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance the Queen’s Colour Squadron is the RAF’s ceremonial display unit. In addition to delivering world renowned Continuity Drill Displays at military events and tattoos, the Queen’s Colour Squadron can be seen representing the RAF at the Cenotaph and at Buckingham Palace.

Fantastic Flypasts

We are pleased to announce a Spitfire Flypast 1230 on Wednesday 29 June and and Tornado Jet Flypast scheduled to take place as follows: 1855 hours Wednesday 29 June and 1750 hours Thursday 30 June. These will be a spectacular sight.

New Beltex Sheep Section

A new livestock class has been introduced to reflect the growing popularity of the Beltex breed in East Anglia. Beltex sheep, originally developed as the Belgian Texel, arrived in this country in 1989, bringing a new dimension to British lamb production with its double-muscle traits. It will appear under its own name for the first time when the inaugural competition gets under way on Wednesday.

The Green

With BBC Introducing acts Jake Morrell and The Extons playing, The Green will definitely offer an exciting programme of music and culture. We are thrilled that The Garage, Norfolk Young Arts Festival, BBC Voices and City College Norwich will also be delivering a number of events. In addition there will be media workshops, face painting, circus skills workshops, big bubbles and a number of stands ideal for young people.

Retail Opportunities

With over 650 retailers, from high end designer labels to crafts, food and agricultural machinery there is something for everyone.

The Art of Butchery

This year the Royal Norfolk Show will be hosting a butchery demonstration where some of the county’s top butchers will come together to show the variety of meat cuts – pork – beef and lamb in the Art of Butchery.  A competition between butchers will take place each afternoon, followed by a cash auction.

Broads and Tourism

This completely new exciting area aims to highlight the importance of the Broads to our industries, culture and landscape. Working with the Broads Authority, the ‘village’ centered around a landscaped lake in our countryside area, we have brought together a range of organisations involved in promoting and working in Broadland to exhibit and bring in activities for visitors to enjoy.

Sports Village

The Sports Village is going to be an action packed place. Taking part in this year’s Sports Village are: EA Tennis, UEA Sports Park, Royal Yachting Association, FA – This Girl Can, Norfolk Golf, Voluntary Norfolk – The Activator Demonstration areas featuring Tug of War, Martial Arts, Aerobics, Zumba and Yoga, Active Norfolk and Leicester Tigers.

Discover the Talk Tent

The ‘Talk Tent’ is an area to listen to various educational and inspirational guest speakers. The line-up will include: Tim Bevan from the Soil Association and poet and storyteller Belona Greenwood performing the original Mr Mawkin’s story. In support of RAF Marham’s centenary Rolls Royce will be showcasing the technology behind the world’s most advanced jet engines.

Horse and Heritage Real Horse Power

Never seen before at the Royal Norfolk Show Real Horse Power will be the largest gathering of heavy horses and vintage horse-drawn machinery in Norfolk for generations. With choreographed movements Real Horse Power will bring to life the nature of farming before the tractor and truck, demonstrating to music and commentary, how the land was ploughed, crops sown and the harvest reaped – the original Field to Fork.  Taking part in Real Horse Power will be 36 heavy horses representing all the heavy horse breeds – Percheron, Clydesdale, Suffolk and Shire.
