Walkers and cyclers across Suffolk are being encouraged to take part in this year’s 35th Suffolk Historic Churches Sponsored Bike Ride and Stride this September.
Thousands of families and groups of all ages are expected to take part in the event this September 10, in support of the Suffolk Historic Churches Trust which supports the repair and maintenance of the counties historical churches, chapels and other buildings.
Patrick Grieve, the event chairman, said: “September 10 is the day you can make a difference for your chosen church or chapel. Join the hundreds riding or striding around Suffolk’s beautiful villages, woods and farmland. Raise your fitness and your spirits, and money for the Trust.”
The Suffolk landscape is well known for its 500 medieval churches, which have become an intrinsic part of Suffolk’s social history, and have added to the walks and bike rides visitors and residents take throughout the beautiful countryside.
If you are staying at your modern holiday homes at our Suffolk holiday parks around September 10 why not join in the fun of the Bike Ride and Stride and also take the opportunity to explore some of Suffolk’s historical and interesting churches?
