The festive season is soon to get fully underway, and throughout December and even into the New Year there will be several themed events designed to entertain and dazzle you in venues across Norfolk. Chant ‘oh yes it is!’ at one of the several pantomimes based on classic fairy tales, tap your feet to some Christmas tunes and prepare to be mesmerised by a number of great performances taking place near our Norfolk holiday lodges.
Gorleston Pavilion will this year be hosting the popular family pantomime Aladdin – expect plenty of laughs and clap-along music – from December 7 to January 2. On Saturday 3, The Tigerlilys will also be performing at the theatre, entertaining the audience with a night of non-stop singing and dancing.
From December 17 to January 8, the St George’s Theatre in Great Yarmouth will be home to the fun family panto Jack and the Beanstalk. The show is produced completely in-house and is sure to bring you a night of fun and laughter.
Back for its 12th year, Cromer Pier will once again be hosting its popular Christmas show from November 26 right through until December 30. The cast invite you to join in with their festive fun, ranging from song and dance to laugh out loud routines. This year, Christmas Show legend Olly Day will be joined by the Seaside Special Dancers and Martyn James, an award-winning comedian and magician.
The Corn Exchange in King’s Lynn will also be hosting another popular pantomime performance – the classic fairy-tale of Cinderella. With performances from December 9 right through to New Year’s Eve, there’s plenty of chances to enjoy this much-loved tale brought to life by stunning sets, costumes, choreography and musical numbers.
Norwich’s Theatre Royal will be putting on a Jack and the Beanstalk performance to rival that of Great Yarmouth’s from December 13 until January 15. This will be a great show to see especially if you are planning on visiting in the New Year, and will feature some special guests: Wayne Sleep as Phineas P Stinkworthy and Richard Gauntlett as Nigella Trottalot.
Right up until December 23, Thursford will be hosting its Christmas Spectacular, which has now been entertaining its audience for 40 years. More than 130 singers, dancers and musicians come together for this 3-hour spectacle, featuring both traditional carols and chart-topping favourites, to the backdrop of magical fairground carousels and mechanical organs.
