Mablethorpe

No holiday to the seaside would be complete without a trip to the beach and Mablethorpe is one of the best in the area. As a blue flag award winner, it is perfect for getting some fresh sea air during an autumn stroll. The soft golden sands, grassy dunes and clear waters seem to stretch for miles. The bonus of Mablethorpe beach is that your four-legged friends are welcome to enjoy it too. The main section of the beach is a no-dog zone, but the expanses either side of this are more than pooch friendly!

Donna Nook National Nature Reserve

The abundance of wildlife at the Donna Nook draws thousands of people to the Nature Reserve every year, and it is during the colder months that the area comes to life, as the resident seals come to the dunes and sandbanks to give birth to their pups. At just over six miles long, there is a network of paths and viewing spots, so visitors can enjoy the spectacle while still providing enough distance from the animals. The quietest time to go is during the week, as the weekends see an influx of people all wanting to view the mammals.
