Research has found that more Brits are planning on taking a holiday based in the UK this year, with fine dining topping the list of their priorities.
Roughly 87% of people who are taking a staycation this year said they are planning to dine out, making it the most popular planned activity.
These figures were revealed in this month’s Greene King leisure tracker, which also found that 69% of holiday goers in the UK were also planning on exploring local pubs on their holiday.
The average British household spend on leisure activities out of the home was down slightly year-on-year in May, but this was likely due to the school half-term falling in June.
Despite this slight dip, drinking out prevailed and recording a 2% growth in spending year-on-year, proving us Brits enjoy sampling the finest UK brews.
Speaking of the results, Greene King group marketing director Rob Rees said:
“This month’s Greene King Leisure Spend Tracker suggests that many households are looking forward to enjoying some well-earned holidays.”
