Everyone loves going on holiday, but many of us dread packing for our big trip. Let’s face it, it’s not the most interesting job in the world, but it has to be done!

Luckily, we have done the hard work for you and taken a look at some essential items you should remember to bring with you next time you visit one of our holiday parks in Norfolk.

Sun protection

With potentially the hottest summer in many years on its way, protection from the sun is key. Experts recommend that you use a protection no lower than SPF 15, and that it provides good UVA and UVB protection, with a four or five-star rating.

Sunglasses should also be worn to protect your eyes from harmful rays. Look for sunglasses that protect you from 99-100% of both UVA and UVB light. This includes those labelled as UV 400. You might also want to pack a hat and even a sun shelter for your visit to one of the many beautiful beaches near our parks.

Swimming gear

Whether you are brave enough to face a dip in the sea, or enjoying an on-site swimming pool, don’t forget your swimming gear! You might also want to pack some goggles or a snorkel, in case you want to have a little underwater adventure.

So you have packed some gadgets for your holiday (why not take a look at our holiday gadget guide if you aren’t sure what to bring?) but make sure you remember the chargers. Everything from your phone to your toothbrush needs a charger nowadays, so make sure you pair up each item before you pack them, so you’re sure you’ve got a charger for everything.

Water bottle

It may sound like a silly one, but bringing your own water bottles saves you from buying a bottle of water every time you are out and about, meaning you can just fill it up before you head out for the day. Remaining hydrated is extremely important, especially when the weather is warmer, as it can help to prevent you from suffering from things such as heatstroke.

Beach bag

Of course, all of these items have to fit somewhere, so pack yourself a beach bag. Your bag should be large enough to house the items you will need for the day (beach towels, swimming clothes, sun protection etc.) and one that you aren’t afraid to get sandy.

Again, may sound like a simple one, but many people don’t plan ahead with their footwear choices. You should ensure that you have footwear for every occasion. If you are looking to head out walking along the coast, you will want some sturdy footwear. If you are just looking to relax on the beach every day, flip flops are perfect. We’re not saying you should bring ten pairs of shoes, just the appropriate ones for your planned activities!
