We are already a week into July, and with the warm weather it is looking to be a great month for family days out on the weekend, as well as the summer holidays beginning at the end of the month. Latitude Festival 14-17 July
At Henham Park Estate in Southwold, which is close to our Broadlands holiday park, one of the UK’s favourite festivals is being held. You can buy day tickets to the festival, which gives you the chance to listen to some great live music, as well as enjoy the many food and craft stalls they have at the festival.
Jimmy’s Farm Sausage and Beer Festival 23-24 July
Back again for another year is the popular Sausage and Beer Festival. There will be a mixture of great music with national and local bands performing as well as many tasty foods to try, with demonstrations and talks from renowned chefs – plus a sausage eating competition!
Felixstowe Carnival 23-24 July
Over the same weekend as the Sausage Festival is the Felixstowe Carnival. Fun for the whole family the Carnival has been ongoing for over sixty years, and this year celebrates the theme of the Rio Carnival, due to the upcoming Olympics. A number of bands and artists will be performing over the two days, with different traders selling their produce and craft.
Theatre in the Forest 26 July – 28 July
Over the whole of the summer holiday, the Red Rose Chain Theatre Company will be performing The Tempest at Jimmy’s Farm. The whole family can enjoy this Shakespeare play in a magical setting of the woodland.
Southwold Model Yacht Regatta 27 and 30 July
Head to the Model Boat Pond in Southwold and join in the fun. Model yacht sailing has happened for over 100 years in the town, and has becoming an extremely fun activity the whole family will enjoy. You can see these fantastic models that are just as good as the real yachts you can find out to sea.
Snape Proms 29 July to 28 August
A vibrant array of music of all genres, ranging from folk and classical to roots and jazz is what makes up the Snape Proms. Add in some comedy, poetry and family workshops, and you will have a fantastic festival to suit all ages and tastes.
Suffolk Dog Day 31 July
There will be so much tail-wagging at the annual Suffolk Dog Day! You will find grooming tips, puppy training and even sheep dog trials at this event. At Helmingham Hall Estate, the 400-acre deer park, walled garden and picturesque gardens makes Suffolk Dog Day a fantastic day out for the whole family.
