A brand new, 24-hour, free festival is coming to the Lowestoft coast this weekend.

Lowestoft is the most easterly town and part of the Sunrise Coast - the sunrise first reaches the horizon here every morning - so First Light Festival is all about celebrating this, with a multi-arts festival from midday Saturday 22nd - midday Sunday 23rd June.

The 24 hour festival will feature DJs, artists, musicians and more, including Academy Award winning film-maker Danny Boyle & BBC Radio present and DJ Gilles Peterson, as well as poetry workshops, dance classes and performances, sports, short films, talks and loads of stuff for the kids to do.

The festival will spread across the seafront on stages, buildings, gardens and the beach itself just past the South Lowestoft beach, and will feature some of the best local food and drink stalls, as well as local crafts and wares.
