From sail boat to fashion - a story of a coastal business upcycling unwanted marine materials to stylish lifestyle accessories
At Tingdene Lifestyle, we do love to be beside the seaside - with a range of staycations, holiday parks and holiday homes at the coast. When we heard about these two childhood friends who set up coastal business Sail and Canvas, upcycling old and unwanted marine materials such as sail cloths into lifestyle accessories, we thought it was such a cool story that we had to find out more…
‘‘We have a passion for old sails – they come in to us after a life of adventure often smelling of the sea and crusty with salt, they have been loved by their owners and then we give them a new life and pass on that love. Our original sailcloth & colourful marine canvas lifestyle products are hand made in our estuary sail loft workshop on Topsham Quay in Devon. Every sail we use means less sailcloth ends its life in landfill and that is our other passion…reduce, reuse and recycle.’’

Environmentally friendly coastal apparel to wear and use at your coastal Holiday Home
Not only are their products and lifestyle accessories uber cool, they are ethical and great for the environment - recycling and upcycling something and giving it a new purpose and life. If you think about it, what’s really nice is that every product has a uniqueness about it; no two products are exactly the same, plus there are imperfections and hints from former life on the ocean. Choose from beach bags, shoppers, flight bags, kit bags, personalised items, accessories & gifts. We think these products would be a perfect addition to a seaside holiday home, whether it is something you wear or something you use, whatever the weather!
