Condé Nast Traveler are well known for picking out the most incredible eateries from all over the world, and creating extensive guides to where to go for the best of the best. They recently revealed a cohesive list of the 207 best restaurants in the world, and a family run bistro in Norfolk was among this great number!
The magazine roped in a grand network of great chefs, food writers and globetrotters to scour the world for the most incredible places they could find to eat. The list was made up of a total of 207 entries, coming from 42 different countries, with only 14 entries being from the UK!
The Norfolk establishment which won the grand title is The Market Bistro in King’s Lynn, run by Lucy and Richard Golding, who have been running this place for seven years now. Lucy noted: “We try and source all our ingredients from within a 40-mile radius. We like to support local farmers and we use as much free range and rare breed animals as possible.”
Their focus on locally sourced produce and making everything they can in house is certainly working well for them with this great achievement. The owners noted that they plan to continue doing all they can to satisfy their customers with their every changing, seasonal menus.
“We can’t believe out little bistro in King’s Lynn has been recognised, and we are still pinching ourselves,” Lucy added.
Kate Sekules, a magazine reviewer and food and travel expert commented: “This place is a revelation – unpretentiously locavore-ish, welcoming and personal. The house-made breads are brilliant.”
