The coastal area of Suffolk has been named as one of the top 15 second home hotspots in the UK, with nearly one in 20 homes throughout Suffolk registered as a second home in 2015.

Towns and villages along the Suffolk coast have up to a third or 40% of houses that are registered as second homes. Mayor of Aldeburgh, Michael Kiff, said the largely unspoilt coast line will continue to appeal to those looking to buy a second home.

He added it was unsurprising that the area has been named a hotspot: “It’s a very popular area.” Those who have second homes in the area bring in a lot of tourism and jobs and also spend money in the towns and villages they stay in.

He also said the individual shops, particularly in places like Aldeburgh, appeal to people visiting, as well as the unspoilt coastline Suffolk has to offer.

We have many holiday homes in Suffolk that are in a great location for a second home; you can explore the coastal towns for a spot of shopping and enjoy the stunning beaches that are close to our holiday parks.
