Suffolk is a magical time during the festive season, and there are a range of great events to get everyone in the spirit. Here are some of our favourites that are not to be missed while you are in the area:

 

Bury St Edmunds Craft and Gift Fayre

The four day Christmas Fayre is visited by people from all over the UK, the spectacular event consists of not just 300 unique and interesting stalls, but a range of entertainment suitable for all ages and interests! Bury St Edmunds Fayre will be pleasantly more than you anticipated and you are likely to come away wishing you had more time to spend there. Bury St Edmunds will be transformed as stalls will be set up all over the market town, from the Abbey Gardens to Hatter street and Langton Place. All selling exclusive, one of a kind items ranging from pottery, toys, jewellery, clothing, food and much more! Entertainment will take place at various times over the weekend, with live demonstrations from famous chefs, live music and various activities for children.

Christmas Wreath Making Workshop – Suffolk Punch Trust

Learn how to make your own festive wreath in time for putting up your Christmas decorations. Whether you are at home or staying at one of our Suffolk caravans, it’s great fun to decorate the place and get into the Christmas spirit. There will be a demonstration of how to make the wreath, along with assistance while you have a go yourself. All materials will be provided, but you should bring along your own gardening gloves and secateurs.

Pantomime

The Marina Theatre in Lowestoft is the cultural hub of the town, and it is at Christmas it brings together families, both visitors and residents alike to celebrate the time of year with a traditional panto performance! This year’s show will be the enchanting story of Aladdin, and it is packed full of laugh out loud moments, songs and surprises.

Snape Maltings Christmas Farmers Market

For many adults, Christmas is about friends, family, food and drink. So, stock up your cupboards with a range of local, artisan foods at the famous and celebrated Snape Maltings Christmas Farmers Market. There’s no better time to treat yourself and indulge in quality produce than during the festive season. The mini food festival will have a wide variety of foods and drinks to tempt your taste buds and make your Christmas a culinary delight to be remembered.


Saturday 23rd December, the event is free but bring along some cash for your delicious treats!

Felixstowe Christmas Dip -  Christmas Day

Start your Christmas morning a little differently this year with a bracing and energising dip in the North Sea. St Elizabeth Hospice is encouraging participants to brave the water in aid of the charity, sponsors of participants and donations will be greatly received. The atmosphere on the beach will be fantastic, as over 400 people run into the waters with their friends and family on the shoreline supporting them.

Registration required. Early bird is £7.00 until the 31st October 2017 and after early bird is £12.00 per person from the 1st November until the 21st December.
