Barn1 Bar & Restaurant at Tingdene Caldecott Hall Country Park has received a 5 star Food Hygiene Rating from the FSA via Great Yarmouth Borough Council!

Relaunched in April 2023 after a £60,000 renovation, Barn1 Bar & Restaurant is run in a stunning 18th century, Grade II listed building on the 400 acre estate of Caldecott Hall Country Park. Husband and wife team Daniel & Emma are a local couple behind the popular restaurant, and have also been landlords of Bar 1 and Kitchen in nearby Gorleston since 2021.

Serving a popular Sunday carvery and delicious meals throughout the week, as well as Afternoon Tea, special events and private hire, this stunning Bar & Restaurant resides next to the Caldecott Hall Golf Club clubhouse and also serves snacks and refreshments to golf members and visitors alike.

They also offer Relax & Retreat, which gives 2 hour access to the pool, jacuzzi and team room on-site followed by afternoon tea, which is available on Wednesdays & Thursdays for £25pp.

Caldecott Hall Golf Club welcomes over 400 members to enjoy a premier golf club within the 400 acre country estate near to Great Yarmouth.

The 18 hole 73 par course at Caldecott Hal Golf Club makes for an exciting and challenging day for members and visitors alike.

Caldecott Hall Golf Club offers lessons available for everyone with the on-site golf pro, and recently set up a free Juniors course during the school holidays.

Sponsored by the Tingdene Group, the juniors golf Academy gave lots of local children age 8 - 14 the opportunity to learn the basics of golf.

Open 7 days a week from 09:00 - 16:00, Caldecott Swimming Pool is open to everyone! There are reduced rates for holiday guests and holiday home owners at Caldecott Hall Country Park, so the benefits of owning a Tingdene holiday home really do stack up. There is also a lovely jacuzzi and steam room to enjoy, perfect after some laps in the pool. And you can head straight to Barn1 next door for some refreshments after!


Redwings Horse sanctuary, olivers cafe & Sanctuary Rooms

Redwings is now the largest horse welfare charity in the UK, caring for more than 1,500 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules.

Redwings Horse Sanctuary at Caldecott Hall Country Park is one of 5 horse sanctuarys across Norfolk, Essex and Oxfordshire.

There is also the Anna Sewell House in nearby Great Yarmouth, the birthplace Anna Sewell who is the author of the Black Beauty novel. Redwings became the proprietors of the building in 2022 and uses it to teach visitors about Anna Sewell, her iconic book and the work they do with horses around their sites.

Redwings at Caldecott also offers visitors coffee, cake and other refreshments at their popular Olivers Cafe on-site. You can also stay in their beautifully renovated Sanctuary Rooms on-site.


Disc Golf at Caldecott Hall Country Park

2023 was the year that a brand new Disc Golf course was launched at Caldecott Hall Country Park.

Disc Golf is a popular game in the USA and involves throwing a disc into baskets on the 9 hole course next to the reception office.

This Great Yarmouth Disc Golf course has proved popular with locals and holidaymakers throughout the summer and can be played throughout the year.
