There are so many things we love about the summer and the seaside. From the ethereal and spiritual celebration of the summer solstice, to the fun of the fair and fish and chips, we love it all. Having your own UK seaside holiday home is the perfect way to enjoy it all.

What is the Summer Solstice?

June 21st is Summer Solstice for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere.

Technically speaking, the Summer Solstice occurs when the Earth’s pole has its maximum tilt towards the Sun. This happens twice, once for the northern hemisphere and once for the southern.

In layman’s terms, this is the longest day of the year (with the most daylight) and marks the beginning of the Summer season.

North Denes Holiday Park - where the sun comes up early

The Summer Solstice is usually seen as the start of summer. It’s when the sun seems to stand still. In fact the word ‘solstice’ comes from the Latin for ‘sun’ and ‘standing’. It’s that moment when the sun appears to halt as it stops advancing northwards, before going back the other way. Who knew?

Plus, did you know that Tingdene North Denes is the UK’s most easterly caravan park? Being next to the beach at Ness Point means this is where the sun comes up first in the UK. So, if you’re the sort of person who wants to celebrate the solstice on June 21st, or the sort who simply likes the idea of seeing the sun as soon as possible, this is the ideal place for your holiday home.

You can find caravans for sale at North Denes or you can move a caravan you already have to this fantastic location, a location that gives you so much. From the quiet byways of Suffolk to the magical waterways of the Broads, the sights and sounds of East Anglia are yours for the taking.

Caldecott Hall Country Park - great for Great Yarmouth golf

If you’re somewhat more sporty and particularly if golf is your thing, Caldecott Hall Country Park is another clear indication that a seaside holiday home in the UK is as great an idea as it’s ever been. This woodland setting, with amazing golf and leisure facilities, is perfectly placed for your holiday lodge or caravan. If you want to stretch your legs with a game of golf, or you simply want to stretch out and relax, this is where you need to be.

As we reconsider how we spend our leisure time, and how we plan our holidays, the magic of our own coastline has come back into sharper focus. Some of us like to do as little as possible, some of us want to engage in the sports and games we simply don’t have time for normally - and let’s be honest haven’t been able to enjoy in recent times. Either way, your own UK seaside holiday home is the dream ticket to living the dream. So, if golf is your is your holiday wish Caldecott Hall Country Park could just make you dreams come true.

Then again, if fish and chips are your seaside favourite (aren’t they everybody’s?) you’re not far from the legendary resort of Great Yarmouth. Summer solstice is one thing, but there is actually a national ‘Fish and Chip Day’ as well. It was in May so you’ve missed this year’s - sorry! But with your own seaside holiday home, you can plan on being at the seaside next year and every year. For sport or for chips, there are just so many ways we love the seaside.

Redcar Beach - the seaside of Teeside

We love the seaside when we’re further north as well. Your own caravan holiday home at Redcar Beach will also put you close to some great golf actually as it’s close to Cleveland golf club. But there’s so much more.

Saltburn-by-the-Sea is a reason in itself for loving the great British seaside. The North Yorkshire coast has some of the longest unbroken stretches of beach in the country. And it’s all so close to the wonderful North Yorkshire Moors. The sheer variety of the UK’s coastline is another reason why we love the seaside. Choosing to have your own seaside holiday home makes so much sense and the great thing about it is there is so much choice.

Another thing about North Yorkshire? Some will claim that this is where you’ll find the best fish and chips. We couldn’t possibly comment. Suffolk holiday home owners and those in Clacton on Sea will have their own ideas. Let’s just say that all over the country we love our seaside fish and chips, as well as the wonders of big beaches and spectacular scenery. We’ll say it again. There are just so many ways we love the seaside. Which is why a holiday home by the sea is such a brilliant idea.

Mablethorpe - bring your own to lovely Lincolnshire

Maybe you’ve already got your own holiday home caravan but feel you’d like it to be somewhere else for the future.  Mablethorpe could be pitch perfect for you. Moving your caravan to Mablethorpe means you’ll be close to the classic, traditional, seaside resort that is Skegness…shall we mention fish and chips again?

You’ll have the glories of the Lincolnshire coast’s golden sands. and you’re close by the Lincolnshire Wolds too. That great pleasure of having the countryside so close to the coast is  another reason why we love the seaside so much. And why your own UK holiday home is such a great idea.

So that’s why UK holiday homes by the sea are seeming like the best idea ever. That quick trip from the east coast to Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, is just a glimpse of the possibilities. There’s also Suffolk holiday homes on the Broads, or holiday lodges for sale in Norfolk at the Waveney River Centre for example. There’s so much choice, and so much variety.

Go for golf and sport, find the perfect fish and chips or seek out the spot to best see the sunrise at solstice; they are all pleasures of the UK seaside - which is why we love it.

And that’s why the idea of having your own UK seaside holiday home has probably never made more sense than it does right now.
